1. After you have prepped and cleaned the window area, apply the double-sided tape around the window on the frame, leaving the backing on. Let the adhesive bond with the frame for 15 minutes.
2. Peel off the tape’s paper backing and align the film carefully at the top of the window, leaving a two-inch overhang. Press film securely to tape. Work your way down, smoothing the film as you go and leaving a two-inch extra margin on all sides.
3. Use a hairdryer on the highest setting to shrink the film and make it taut. Hold the dryer about one-quarter inch from the film, starting at one corner and moving slowly back and forth across the entire film surface. To finish, cut off any excess plastic with scissors or a razor blade.
